In Darts Up, players aim and throw virtual darts at various target boards across multiple single-player and local multiplayer game modes. Rather than relying on traditional button presses alone, the game features a motion-based aiming system: players tilt and align the Wii U GamePad using its built-in gyroscopic sensors to target their shot, then flick or execute a physical motion to release the dart toward the board.
The game offers a variety of classic and arcade-inspired rulesets:
Classic Darts: Traditional 501 and 301 scoring formats where players must count down from a fixed score and finish with a double.
Combo Mode: A score-attack mode where players hit designated target rings and zones in rapid succession to build high multipliers.
Arcade / Party Modes: Dynamic party challenges with unique target placements designed for competitive local play with family and friends.
On the Nintendo Wii U, Darts Up supports local multiplayer for up to four players on a single console using pass-and-play controller rotation or multiple Wii Remotes, along with full support for Off-TV Play.
