In Freedom Planet, players sprint, fight, and fly through sprawling levels designed with momentum-based physics and multi-path platforming. Built as a passionate homage to 16-bit arcade classics, the game places a strong emphasis on speed and acrobatic movement, allowing players to build up momentum to scale giant loops, loop-de-loops, and vertical inclines.
Each playable heroine offers a completely unique gameplay style that changes how you navigate levels. Sash Lilac uses her Dragon Boost to zip across the screen and ricochet off walls; Carol Tea uses claws and a high-speed motorcycle to scale vertical walls; and Milla Basset utilizes phantom shields and floating jumps to solve puzzles and attack from a distance. The Wii U version makes excellent use of the GamePad by allowing full Off-TV Play, enabling you to play the entire adventure directly on the GamePad screen. Featuring full voice acting across two separate game modes—Adventure Mode and action-focused Classic Mode—Freedom Planet is a standout retro platformer.
