Exile's End
Exile's End is a sci-fi cinematic action-adventure platfo...
Set on the haunted Mt. Hikami, a location infamous for tragic suicides, spiritual anomalies, and sacred water worship, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water follows three interconnected protagonists: Yuri Kozukata, Ren Hojo, and Miu Hinasaki. Each character ventures onto the mountain to uncover mysterious disappearances and break an ancient curse tied to the black water that corrupts the mountain.
The core gameplay centers on mechanics uniquely tailored to the Nintendo Wii U hardware:
Camera Obscura & Wii U GamePad Integration: The Wii U GamePad acts directly as the Camera Obscura. Players hold up and tilt the GamePad to aim, view, and capture ghosts through the GamePad's motion sensors and screen. Rotating the GamePad changes the photo frame angle, allowing players to line up multiple spirit targets or "Fatal Frames" to maximize damage.
Wetness Mechanic: Water plays a central role in both narrative and gameplay. As characters get wet from rain, streams, or ghost encounters, their "Wetness Gauge" fills. Higher wetness increases defense and damage dealt with the Camera Obscura, but also increases the frequency and strength of ghost attacks.
Trace & Shadow Mechanics: Players track missing individuals by following phantom echoes (Shadows) and touching objects left behind, triggering risky memory sequences where ghostly hands can reach out and grab the player.
